Statement of Belief

  1. We declare our faithin the Lord God almighty, our Sovereign God, Maker and Creator of all things and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Saviour. He who was dead but is alive forevermore. We declare our entire dependance upon the Holy Spirit who gives life to the Church, who indwells and sanctifies the Church of Christ, making the Church a Holy people set apart for the glory of God.
  2. We confess our faith in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament, declaring that they and they only constitute the divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
  3. We declare that it is by grace and by grace alone that salvation becomes ours. Faith is a gift of God and does not rest upon our works in any way. It is by the call of God in Christ that we are brought to repentance and faith and this to enable us to become obedient children of God, living holy lives, bearing witness in the world, to the truth and power of the gospel.
  4. We declare that we recognise our responsibility to honour the Lord Jesus Christ in the whole of our life and living. We commit ourselves to do so by involving ourselves in the basic Christian disciplines of prayer, Bible study and worship and translating these disciplines into consistent Christian conduct. While living fully for our Lord in the world, we recognise that we are set apart from the spirit of this age and we shall seek, as God shall help us, not to be conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
  5. We declare that Christ has called us to Himself and into the Church of which He is the only Head and we shall seek to be fully committed to His Church. We shall always be aware of the need to be part of a worshipping community and constantly share in the primary mission of the Church, to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. We shall advance the gospel by all means possible.
  6. We shall prosper by the life of Christ's Church by making a real contribution to its life. We shall be present in worship regularly and will not treat this privelege lightly. We shall pray for the health and growth of the Church, for its Pastors, Leaders and Members who must be encouraged and supported in their labours.
  7. We shall give, as God would have us give, generously and liberally, to the Lord's work and be prepared for sacrifice when this is called for. We shall take personal responsibility for seeing that the Church of which we are a part honours all its commitments and acts wisely in the conduct of its affairs.
  8. We will seek to make this Church always true to the gospel of Jesus Christ, always keen and quick to show His compassion to the needy, His love to the unloved, His forgiveness to the fallen and His grace to the penitent. God so help this Church.
