LIGHTHOUSE KIDS

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Here at Lighthouse Kids our philosophy is to disciple and equip the next generation to be able to live a life that brings glory to God. We introduce children to Jesus by teaching Biblical truths in a relevant and fun environment. We create an environment that builds healthy and positive relationships where every child feels valued and affirmed.

Our mission at Lighthouse Kids is to connect children with Jesus, ensure that they are growing spiritually - including their parents in their discipleship, and to connect them to the church. We love God and serve people by equipping kids to know, grow and show God’s love.

We run a number of different programs during the week to keep your kids entertained, encouraged and growing in the knowledge of Jesus all throughout the week.

OUR MISSION

WHAT A WEEK AT LIGHTHOUSE KIDS USUALLY LOOKS LIKE:

We start off our session with worship. This will either be a kiddies music video or this will be led by a few of our musicians. Thereafter the kids are split into age groups and sent to their classes where they will be taught a lesson for the week.

The session draws to a close with a craft or activity that is related to their lesson for the morning.

Sometimes, if there’s time, we play a game or two with the kids while we wait for the main service to finish.

After Kids Church, we ask parents to fetch their children from their classes. And we wait with the kids during this time.

Should you have little ones, we may even provide a snack!

That’s no problem at all! We provide colouring pages and crayons to keep your little ones busy. There is also a ‘Family Friendly Zone’ at the back of the church with little tables and chairs, this allows your little ones to be kept busy so that you can be a part of the service.

SHOULD YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO REMAIN WITH YOU DURING THE SERVICE, IN THE MAIN HALL.

  • Once you pass through the doors of our main entrance, to your right, you will see our Kids Church check-in counter. During the check-in process we’ll ask for your child’s name, age, any allergies they might have and your contact info. Both you and your child will receive a sticker with a special code.

In the event that your child may need you immediately, we display this code on the big screen of the main church, which alerts you to come and get your kids.

  • Not to worry, this has happened before! We take down your contact details during the check-in process so that we are able to get ahold of you, should you miss the code on the screen.

  • We totally understand! If you’re unsure about sending your kids to Kids Church and would like to find out more - please let one of our Kids Church volunteers know. We will invite you to sit, with your child, in our sessions to see what goes on.

  • Yes there is! We welcome you to use our ‘Kiddies Corner’ facility. In this room there is a TV which streams the service so that parents will still be able to be apart of the service while tending to their little ones.

WHAT DOES A MOM & ME SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Mom and me is very casual and relaxed, which allows moms to chat, share milestones and get advice. We have sensory play for babies which allows your little one to experience and experiment with their senses by becoming fascinated with sensory activities or toys that vary from week to week.

LIGHTHOUSE KIDS OUTREACH

We go to schools during the week, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, to broaden the reach of the gospel to children are not able to come to church and participate in any one of our programs.

We teach kids the gospel through short object lessons from the Bible, sometimes followed by a little craft or activity related to the lesson. We are blessed and proud to say that the kids have been loving it!
