LIGHTHOUSE YOUTH
Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Psalm 71:17
OUR MISSION
Lighthouse Youth is our church’s energy-packed youth ministry and reaches out to all young people between the ages of 14 and 18!
Our mission at Lighthouse is to create a loving environment where young people are able to learn God’s Word, grow in their faith and ultimately go out into the world and share that faith with their families and peers. We do this through Bible based teachings, worship and intentional discipleship that meets people where they are in terms of language, culture, and spiritual maturity.
The ministry of Lighthouse is achieved through three main avenues: Outreach, Discipleship and Events and Camps and Fun activities.

OUTREACH CONSISTS OF:
“Most of all, love one another deeply. Love erases many sins by forgiving them. Welcome others into your homes without complaining. God’s gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully. If anyone speaks, they should do it as one speaking God’s words. If anyone serves, they should do it with the strength God provides. Then in all things God will be praised through Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 4:8 - 11
MISSION TRIPS
Our mission trips happen multiple times a year over the school holidays. They involve students from all of our Bible Study groups and at times our international partners. We run mission trips to be able to have intentional time with the students for teaching, specifically on how to share their faith and how to show Jesus in their lives as well as to create an opportunity for our staff and mentors to build relationships with the students beyond a Friday or Wednesday night.
SCHOOL’S MINISTRY
Lighthouse is involved in a number of schools in various ways specific to the school, we currently do PE Lessons, rugby coaching, Chapel services, and Bible Studies. This is an opportunity to reach young people that may not be able to come to church or potentially have not been exposed to the Gospel before.
HOLIDAY BIBLE CLUB
Holiday Bible Club or HBC is a programme for primary school kids that our youth run in connections with Kids Church, during the holidays. It is a free programme designed to share the Gospel with kids while giving our young people an opportunity to lead. This is where our students will be trusted, under the guidance of our staff, with leading games, worship, providing snacks and even at times teaching a lesson. The students are encouraged to be bold enough to share their faith with the kids and invite them to church, we have loads of fun and look forward to them every year!
This aspect of our outreach is from our team to our students and is an effort to minister to the family as a whole. As needed our team meets with the families of our students in their homes to build relationships, discuss needs and share our hearts with their parents, siblings, and guardians.

EVENTS
Lighthouse has a few large events throughout the year for our students and their friends as well as other churches in the area. The goals of these events vary slightly however the main objectives remain the same, we aim to build relationships between our students in different connect groups, create an environment for the young people to experience the Holy Spirit, give students an opportunity to grow in their leadership skills and create lasting memories with a sense of belonging.
EPIC CAMP
Epic Camp is a local camp for our connect group students and the intention is to be able to focus more on discipleship. It will have a theme that runs for the weekend with messages and workshops all focused around that theme. Epic Camp is during the June/July school holidays and is loads of fun.
LightCon is a large-scale conference run in partnership with the Norwegian students from BIG. The conference is evangelical in nature, and the goal is to reach as many young people as possible with the Gospel. It is free to ensure that everyone can attend and happens over a weekend in February.
LIGHTCON
FRIENDS FEST
Friends Fest is a night of youth with a specific focus on godly friendships and relationships. Our regular connect attendees are encouraged to bring their friends and be encouraged by the events of the night. Our students also have opportunities to lead and carry some responsibility in making the night a success.
